What stops us from becoming the fulfilled person we are meant to be?
Simply put, the primary culprits are belief systems. These are often "lovingly" imposed upon us as a child, initially by our parents and subsequently by society. We are usually unaware of this and in conjunction with our other experiences of the world, we make those beliefs our own. If these do not correspond to what we really feel and desire, it will be hard to be fulfilled and happy about ourselves.
So what are beliefs?
Beliefs are our guiding principles. They are the inner maps we use to make sense of the world. Our beliefs dictate what we think is true and unchanging whereas they are only a mental acceptance and a version of the truth.
On a conscious level you may want to be healthy and happy but you may have a subconscious belief (e.g. "I'm not worth it", "I don't deserve it") that unknowingly creates illness and unhappiness.
Beliefs lead to rules, feelings make us obey them and this drives our behaviour.
Some of these beliefs are deep rooted, often unconscious ("core beliefs") which need to be replaced as they represent the key in unblocking the issue and resolving it completely.
Although these core beliefs operate on an unconscious level, they are nevertheless in the driving seat of our lives. Intuitive Coaching goes to that deeper level, going beyond just treating the symptoms. It clears unwanted core beliefs, replacing them with positive and productive ones. This gives us the opportunity to re-shape and design our own life. This happens without the need for lengthy discussions or having to re-live traumatic experiences.
So what happens in a session and how does this impact your life?
Firstly, we decide on what problem you want to work on, then I go into a meditative state which allows me to be in tune with your unconscious mind. This way I obtain guidance on what your negative core beliefs are and de-activate and replace them with positive ones.
I also provide you with the feelings and understanding of what it is like to live the new belief. For example, someone may have never felt loved, supported, safe or may have never known what it is like to live in abundance, health or happiness. It is thus important for them to gain an understanding of how this feels to get the most out of their new belief.
Every few minutes we will briefly talk ("check in") about what arises and the changes you want to make. We decide whether a belief is supporting you to achieve your goal or is getting in the way. You retain control at all times and changes happen only with your permission.
This is best described by examples:
Example 1:
The issue:
- I suffer from eczema: it drives me crazy and makes me feel hopeless and isolated.
The related belief could be:
- I have no control on what is happening to me and no one can help me.
But ultimately we identify the negative core belief to be:
- I feel deeply threatened to speak and as I have so much unexpressed anger inside, my body is showing it to the world.
I then replace these core beliefs with:
- I can and have the right to speak my mind; feeling completely safe, loved, accepted, listened to and understood, I now know how to listen to my body and act on the messages it sends me.
Example 2:
The Issue:
- I make money but I have no other choice than to work hard and long hours to get it and sometimes it is just not enough.
The related belief could be:
- I am not good, strong, skilled enough and do not spend enough time at work to make enough money.
But ultimately we identify the negative core belief to be:
- I follow and obey my father's teaching, which is the only way I know: you have to work a lot and really hard in order to earn money.
I then replace these core beliefs with:
- It is absolutely ok to have a totally different view point than that of my father, while still retaining a good relationship with him. It is possible for me to earn more money easily and fast; I know what it feels like and I know how to find new ways of acquiring it.
Example 3:
The issue:
- I am not happy in my life. I don't know why which makes me feel completely depressed since I have (almost) everything.
The related belief can be:
- There is something wrong with me, I am not grateful enough.
But ultimately we identify the negative core belief to be:
- I feel responsible for my family to be happy and I have no right to be happy before they are.
I then replace these core beliefs with:
- I am responsible only for myself, giving back and empowering my relatives with their own responsibilities. My happiness is contagious to the world, and I feel that I receive as much as I give.
At the end of the session, I give you tools to allow you to continue working on the positive beliefs and enhance the benefits, once learnt you can apply them to all areas of your life. Relating to the examples above:
Money issue
- Learn and practise to close your eyes for 4-5 seconds everyday (while snoozing in bed in the morning is a good time), visualise and feel your father's love and blessings for you to learn new ways from new people.
Eczema issue
- Learn and practise to close your eyes for 4-5 seconds everyday and ask your body what it has to say, listen, and act on it during that same day.
Depression issue
- Learn and practise to close your eyes for 4-5 seconds everyday and visualise a child's smile - this opens our hearts and draws a smile on anyone's face. Be and feel happy so you can give effortlessly to the others around you.
Most people benefit greatly after a single session however when one realises how easy it is to change negative beliefs, they often decide there are more areas in their lives that they would like to work on.
